I come from nowhere and I go nowhere.
When conditions are sufficient, I manifest.
When conditions are no longer sufficient I withdraw.
I wait until the moment is right to manifest again.

I love the flame. I just returned from a ten day, so I have had some time to muse (yes, the mind wanders endlessly…well, not endlessly). And somewhere in there it arose in me the curiousness of us humans manifesting. I mean, we are all just wavelets of energy at the most fundamental level. On the apparent level we are mass, matter, but at the deeper level we are wavelets, wavelets of energy. How curious it is that we come together into form, into human-ness, arising and passing away (just like our thoughts).
Thanks for this lovely post. I find myself wondering about sufficient and insufficient. All I have is *this* moment – whether it’s sufficient or insufficient, it’s all there is. How do I unfold my being in this very moment. That’s the work of practice and it continues non-stop (on a good day!).

Wonderful post! Wonderful picture and sentiment! Wonderful comments!
I find myself thinking about Nirvana, often translated literally “extinction, blowing out,” but David Brazier tells us it is formed of two words which individually translate as “without” and “wind.” Thus, to Brazier, Nirvana is a flame that is perfectly still.
So, perhaps, our incarnations are a flame that wiggles in the wind. And when we are still — meditating or dead — we are like the photo, unanimated, in touch with our true Self.
Thank you for creating a little meditative haven with the verse and flame. It is my continuous practice to breathe and be still, and not get carried off in the waves of my chattering mind. We begin. We begin. We begin. And we spiral outward in the universe(s) that we are birthing. Namaste.
